Determining Surface Area And Volume Of Rectangular Solids |
|
Lesson 1 |
Problem: Formula Review
Surface Area of Rectangular Solid
= 2 x (Area of side 1 + Area of side 2 + Area of side 3)
Volume of Rectangular Solid = Length x Breadth x Height
Determine the Surface Area and Volume of the Rectangular solid

Solution Surface Area of Rectangular solid
Step 1: = 2 x (Area of side 1 + Area of side 2 + Area of side 3)
= 2 x ((12 x 18) + (18 x 8) + (8 x 12))
= 2 x (216 + 144 + 96)
= 912 cm2
Solution Volume of Rectangular solid
Step 2: = Length x Breadth x Height
= 12 x 18 x 8
= 1728 cm3
Solution The answer is:
Step 3: Surface Area of Rectangular solid = 912 cm2
Complete Volume of Rectangular solid= 1728 cm3
