4/5 ÷ 9/5

Solution                    Look at the fraction carefully

Step 1:   

Solution                    Multiply dividend by reciprocal of divisor and simplify

Step 2:      

4	x	5	=	4
5		9		9

Solution                    The answer is: 4

Step 3: 9

When denominators are not same and fractions are mixed:  

5 4/2 ÷ 6 5/4

Convert mixed numbers to improper fractions and change the denominator

to be the same by multiplying the numerator and denominator by the same

number to make both fractions have the same denominator i.e.

= 14/2 ÷ 29/4

                        = 28/4 ÷ 29/4

The answer is: 28/29
